Series Description
The GE Fanuc RX3i and RX7i are legacy Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) originally developed under the GE Fanuc brand and now supported by Emerson Automation Solutions. The RX3i is a compact, cost-effective PAC designed for mid-sized applications, featuring a modular architecture, high-performance processors, flexible networking options, and hot-swappable I/O modules for simplified maintenance. In contrast, the RX7i is a high-performance PAC built for large-scale and highly complex automation environments, offering more powerful processors, expanded memory, and support for significantly higher I/O density.
Although both PAC families are no longer in active development, they remain deployed in numerous industrial facilities. Emerson now emphasizes its next-generation PACSystems portfolio for new projects, while continuing to provide support and parts for existing RX3i/RX7i installations.
